ABOUT ME
Raised in Spokane Washington, I graduated Cum Laude from Gonzaga Preparatory High School in 2010. I grew up spending hours outdoors catching frogs and grasshoppers. Those fond memories inspired me to continue my education learning more about the world around me and what I can do to protect it.
In 2018, I received my Bachelors of Science from the University of Idaho in Ecology and Conservation Biology. My emphasis in Ecology helped me understand how everything is connected and develop a 'process-based' approach to problem solving where I now consider not only how to solve the situation at hand but to also root out what processes led to the problem in the first place. I also spent much of my time working with and advocating for native pollinators and plants.
In 2020, I graduated with my Masters Degree in Natural Resources and a Certificate in Climate change a short time later. During this time I served as College Chair on the Sustainable Environment Commission for the City of Moscow, as well as part of their local Climate Action Working Group (CAWG), where I assisted in starting a Climate Impacts Assessment, Vulnerability Assessment, and Climate Action Plan for the city.
Currently I am seeking to continue my education to a PhD in Entomology. I am interested in pollinator ecology as well as insect-soil interactions as well as insect- agriculture interactions and how to use and conserve insects for a healthier happier future.

My education and experience has also enhanced my ability to develop sustainable solutions that are multifaceted and incorporate technical availability, social equity and justice, as well as economic feasibility. Recently I have been focusing on going beyond sustainable to more of a regenerative mindset. While it is important to stop our downward spiral, it is just as important to start our trajectory upwards.
I strongly believe that developing communities that are regenerative, resilient, and strong is not just something that 'would be nice' but it is something that is essential for the health and safety of our society and planet.

The Society for Conservation Biology UI Chapter
The main goal of this organization is to help enhance the experience of students who are interested in conservation biology at the University of Idaho. If you are interested in conservation, ecology, or environmental sciences and enjoy being outdoors, volunteering, or getting involved in the scientific community, this is a good organization to join!
Xi Sigma Pi
Established in 1908 at the University of Washington, it's the only Natural Resources Honor Society in the Nation.This society seeks to secure and maintain a high standard of scholarship, to work for the improvement of the profession, and to promote a fraternal spirit among those engaged in activities related to Natural Resources.

Volunteer Intern, Nez Perce Tribe WRD
The Nez Perce Tribe's Water Resources Division (WRD) was established in 1986 to manage the water resources of the Reservation and work on the Snake River Basin Adjudication process. Our mission is to manage, protect, develop, and restore the Nez Perce Tribe's surface and groundwater resources and watershed environments in the treaty-reserved homelands for the benefit, health, culture, and welfare of the tribal public.
Sustainability Representative, University of Idaho
Sustainability Representatives is a multi-disciplinary student leadership program that increases sustainability education and creates active change makers that influence their campus community. Representatives will join their peers at the Sustainability Center in Spring 2020 for one hour per week for an 11 week program. This program includes reading about and discussing current sustainability issues such as community building, alternative transportation, and sustainable food systems, with the goal of developing a deeper understanding of the challenges we face. Sustainability Representatives will put those ideas into action through a campus sustainability project to be completed in April.
Sustainable Environment Commission, City of Moscow
The City of Moscow established the Commission on Sustainable Environment to solicit advice and information about sound environmental management practices for promoting the public health and safety of the citizens of Moscow.

This Society is the nation's largest leadership honor society. It provides a step-by-step program for members to build leadership skills. Candidacy is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction.
